Jute. Ever heard of it? I am in love!
I saw it on someone's blog and filed a mental note to pick some up in the future. That was probably a couple of months ago. You know...back before I had TWO sweet babies to hang out with. :)
On my trip to Hobby Lobby the other day, I just so happened to walk down the isle that it was on. Yay! It was only a little over $3.00 for the roll, so I bought some and headed home to do a craft. (I've been itching to get back to doing crafts/ projects. I miss it a ton, but I never have time!)
Here's how I used the jute...
My mom gave me this lamp years ago. It was brass, so I spray painted it brown. I had previously tried to cover the lamp shade with hemp, but that didn't work at all. The hemp that I had was way too thin, so the lamp has just been sitting. Sitting and waiting for a make over.
The jute was perfect though! I just hot glued it to the shade...
...and voila! I LOVE it! Here is a pic with the light on. It's so subtle and cozy.
Here it is with the light off...
What do you think? Are you a fan of jute now? I have several other ideas of ways I can use it! So yeah...besides my sweet Ellie Grace, JUTE is my new favorite thing. :)
Love the Jute lampshade, Nat! Super cute. i've been wanting to pick some up too. Which aisle at Hobby Lobby? :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT! I am totally inspired. That was so clever of you. I am most impressed with you!! Trying to think of a lamp or two I can do this cool trick to!
ReplyDeleteLove it! And I love the turkey beside it, too:-).
ReplyDeleteThanks, ladies! Maury, I think it is on the isle with the other stuff to make necklaces. It may have been the isle with the feathers. Can't wait to see what y'all do with it! :) Maury...I STILL trying to find time to do your wreath! I LOVE that thing!
